Once, an age of technological advancement and universal prosperity flourished across countless civilizations, but as the universe began to collapse and worlds were lost to the Void, society descended into conflict over dwindling resources.
From this darkness rose Empress Melar. Wielding the mysterious power of the Infinity Matrix, she uses the evangelisation of enslaved realities to strengthen the fragmented Veil. Her empire spreads across what remains of the universe, subjugating world after world who now believe that without her "celestial benevolence", all life would cease to exist.

Retrieved by Empress Melar from the heart of a dying supernova, this ancient and unfathomable artifact allows her to manipulate the very fabric of reality. Through it, she maintains the tattered Veil that separates existence from oblivion, tethering enslaved realities to stabilize what remains of the universe. The Caladorian Rangers believe that separating Melar from the Matrix could end her tyranny, though none can predict if this would save reality or accelerate its collapse.
